Gamerznet (now known as Gamerzportal) probably thought he'd never see the day that i'd say this:
I'M NOW OFFICIALLY BORED OF HALO 2!!! *shot by halo 2 fans*
Anyway i created this halo 3 speculation thread so we can discuss the final game (hopefully) of the series, and to prevent gamerznet (the website) from rotting
Here are some things i hope Halo 3 will have:
-Floodling bombs! yes, i hope floodling bombs will be added to the two existing grenade categories. instead of blowing up in an inferno, the floodling attaches itself to a host (kind of like plasma grenades) and starts sucking out their blood and internal organs. However, these can only be used when there are actually floodlings.
-Damage Reporter! it is only active in multiplayer and on xbox live, and it's simply blueprints (or schematics) of the character model you play as and when you get shot there will be a red dot wherever the bullet(s) land. In the energy sword's case, a huge red line that cuts across the model/blueprints. This can be used to resolve things like "OMG WTF I SHOT YOU LIKE TEN TIMES WITH A SHOTGUN WTF ARENT U DEAD?!!?" that my friends always have. What they didnt say was that they were halfway across the map (beaver creek) when they were shooting me, so most of the bullets were scattered. With the damage reporter, it becomes clear where u are hit, and how many bullets hit u. it can also be toggled
-command pad! in halo 2, the directional pad is completely idle. So in halo 3, they should make something out of it. in halo 2, there are many times when u are launching a sneak attack on your enemies, and suddenly ur marines charge at them, blowing ur cover and getting themselves killed. With a command pad, u can order them around (follow, cover me, hold etc.), kind of like CS. like the damage reporter, it can be turned off if u dont want to use it.
-Wraith plasma turrets. This is the second most disappointing thing in halo 2 (the most being that the story doesnt end here) . When NPC's drive wraiths, they can fire its secondary plasma guns. When u pilot one however, u get a lousy speed boost (which can come handy sometimes, but i'd rather have the guns). What the flip?! it's a tank it doesnt need speed. hopefully in halo 3, the wraith's plasma guns can be used by human players.
-more human vehicles!!! in halo 2, there are 3 human vehicles (including the 2 warthog variants) that u can drive. The covenant have...well a lot more. halo 3 should have an ATV (which was supposed to be in halo 2, but got cancelled for some reason), a small one-man jump jet to match the covenant banshee, a drive-able pelican, a speedboat, a bike (a motorcycle, in case u were wondering...) and a james bond car with machineguns and rocket launchers and plenty of gizmos and gadgets.
-jackal energy shield! awesome. it can be dual wielded like u would a normal gun and can be turned on and off. There would be a battery to it, much like an energy sword's, except it would constantly drain when turned on, and drain much faster when being hit, depending on the enemy's weapon. And, it can be used for a devastating melee.
-dual-wieldable energy sword!!! strange isn't it? an energy sword is super light (only the metal bar actually weighs something), and it requires only one hand to use, so why can't it be dual wielded? hopefully they change that in halo 3. Imagine, dual wielding an energy sword with an an energy shield, lolz. Your opponent lunges towards you with their sword, but u block it with your shield, and slash them across the neck in return! how cool would that be? ;D ;D ;D
well these are some things i can think of now, and sorry for the extremely long post...
